NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF
CONSERVATION DISTRICTS (NACD)

Client Profile: The National Association of Conservation Districts represents 3,000 conservation districts across the United States, and over 17,000 members who serve on their governing boards. NACD supports these districts by providing national leadership and maintaining relationships with organizations and government agencies. They are financed through contributions from its member districts and state associations.

Business Challenge: To provide education materials to conservation districts, school age children and educators that present reasoning and methods of conservation.

Willow Marketing Solution: Willow Marketing works with NACD to create interesting and informative pieces that help to educate the public about specific conservation topics each year. By creating age appropriate activity booklets, bookmarks, posters, tray liners and reading books with activities and fun facts centered around the topic of conservation, Willow Marketing enables NACD to reach out to the community in a way that is both educational and entertaining.

The subject of soil conservation was chosen as the 2008 highlight. This choice coincided with an educational display at the Smithsonian Institute. This display will be housed at the Smithsonian for a year, and will include pieces and information from NACD. After one year the display will become a traveling museum piece and will tour the country for five years, educating the American public on the importance of soil conservation.

Willow Marketing is working with NACD to create a campaign that combines entertaining activities and experiments with factual data about the topic of soil conservation. These pieces will not only reside in the Smithsonian Institute and travel around the United States; they will also be used in schools across America as supplemental classroom pieces.
